AGENDA AS PROMOTIONAL MATERIAL

Publication date:

A planner always represents an ideal business gift. Creating a gift that is both business-oriented and personal is not very difficult; it all starts from a classic idea that can be transformed into a tangible expression of the concept of gifting. A gift planner can always bring surprise to everyone who uses it, as it simultaneously represents a life and business organizer, as well as a guide through the business year. Planners with hard or soft covers add a certain charm, but depending on the personality of the recipient and the level of formality, you can choose between different types of planners.

Planners are portable. They can be both small and large in size. They are usually bound in leather or other soft but high-quality materials. They consist of several sections, the most important being a diary, calendar, and address book. These booklets often also contain information useful in a business context, such as travel maps or dialing codes for countries and/or domestic cities. They are similar to other stationery items of comparable appearance and structure, such as notebooks (school and office supplies) and notepads (for quick notes).

In countries such as Switzerland, there are student planners in which pupils write down homework and organize their activities. They are intended as a form of communication between school and parents, as parents are required to monitor their content and record notes, results, and grades. Parents sign them every week as proof that they have reviewed the content.  Personal planners are also produced with company logos, names, inscriptions, and even customized sections requested by the customer.

At the end of the 20th century, within the global digitalization process, paper planners began to be replaced by electronic devices. The first such electronic solution was the Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), followed by applications such as Personal Information Managers (PIM), which included all the features of planners and additional functionalities. At the beginning of the 21st century, this process continued, and new replacements for agendas can be found in smartphones and tablets. However, the classic planner still remains a top choice for business and personal gifts for people who know what they want.

WHY USE A TRADITIONAL PLANNER?

There are people who simply prefer paper and everything related to it: notebooks, notepads, planners. They like to physically write down their tasks on paper and feel that this is the safest way. This is also how they best remember things: by seeing written words on paper.
Why traditional paper planners are good:

  • They do not require a battery that can run out,
  • They come in various sizes, colors, and qualities of cover and paper,
  • Many people remember better when they physically write things down,
  • They are faster to use – no waiting for an app to load,
  • They can be used in places where phones are not allowed – lectures, important meetings, conferences, etc.
